After your infrared thermal inspection, you will receive a detailed report with thermal images, temperature data, and recommendations. This guide explains what you are looking at and how to use the information.
Reading Thermal Images
Thermal images use a color palette to represent temperature differences. Warmer areas appear in reds and yellows; cooler areas in blues and purples. What matters most is the pattern — and whether that pattern indicates a problem.
Common Findings and What They Mean
Bright spots on an electrical panel indicate elevated temperature at a breaker or connection — a sign of resistance from loose connections or a failing component requiring prompt attention.
Warm patches on a roof scan indicate trapped moisture in the insulation. The report will show affected boundaries and an estimate of wet insulation percentage.
Cool streaks along walls or ceilings can indicate missing insulation or air infiltration.
Priority Classifications
ElectroTherm Scans classifies findings by urgency: Critical (immediate action), Priority (within 30 days), and Monitor (track at next inspection). Have questions about your report? Call us at 813-837-0000 — we walk every client through their findings personally.
