Leak Detection- Private Residence

We were contacted by a private homeowner to investigate ongoing moisture issues where interior floors were repeatedly becoming wet after rainstorms. The moisture initially appeared in a bedroom and gradually migrated into the living room flooring, raising concerns about hidden water intrusion.To diagnose the issue, we utilized both a Tramex impedance moisture scanner and FLIR thermal imaging equipment to trace the moisture pathway. Testing revealed that water was traveling upward through an exterior bedroom wall before migrating downward into the interior floor areas.Further investigation allowed us to trace the source of intrusion back to defective roof flashing, which was allowing rainwater to enter the building envelope. Once the flashing was properly repaired, the moisture intrusion was eliminated, and the interior floors remained dry.
