This project was performed on a 16-story high-rise building, where our team conducted a thermal roof moisture survey to identify areas of wet insulation within the roof system. The building owner and property management team were planning to install a silicone roof coating system over both the main roof and a secondary roof structure and required verification of existing conditions before moving forward.Using infrared imaging, we evaluated the roof assemblies to locate moisture-affected insulation that would need to be removed and replaced prior to coating. The survey results clearly identified specific areas requiring corrective work, allowing the roofing contractor to address underlying issues before installing the silicone system.By identifying and correcting moisture problems in advance, the client was able to avoid trapping moisture beneath the new coating and ensure the silicone system was installed over a properly prepared roof. In addition to supporting a successful roofing project, the elevated vantage point provided exceptional views from the building during the survey.
