City of Clearwater- Parks & Rec

This project was completed for the City of Clearwater – Parks and Recreation Division, where our team was asked to evaluate roof conditions prior to the installation of a roof coating system. A comprehensive impedance roof moisture survey was performed across approximately 6,600 square feet to determine whether the existing roof assembly was suitable for coating. The non-destructive assessment revealed that more than 56% of the roof area was moisture-saturated, making a coating system infeasible. In addition to elevated moisture levels within the insulation, the survey also identified significant deterioration of the underlying metal roof deck, which showed signs of advanced corrosion and required replacement.Based on these findings, it was determined that roof replacement and deck repairs were necessary before any coating system could be considered. The detailed survey results allowed the client to make an informed decision, avoid premature coating failure, and properly plan corrective repairs to restore the roof system.
