This project involved a 75,000 square foot roof, where a roofing contractor requested our assistance to identify areas of wet insulation following hurricane-related damage. Portions of the roof system had been compromised by the storms, and the contractor needed to determine which areas could be recovered and which sections would require removal and replacement before installing a new TPO roofing system.Our team performed an impedance roof moisture survey using a Tramex Dec Scanner to locate and map moisture-affected insulation throughout the roof assembly. The survey allowed us to clearly distinguish between recoverable areas and sections that were no longer suitable for a roof overlay.Based on the findings, we provided guidance on which areas required insulation replacement and which portions of the roof could safely move forward as part of the TPO roofing installation. This information helped the contractor plan repairs efficiently, reduce unnecessary tear-off, and ensure the new roof system was installed over properly prepared areas.
